Naveen's New Face (Elf Shiwoo)

My Elf Shiwoo got a faceup finally last night! These aren't the best pictures, because I did them so late last night, but I was just too excited to wait to take pictures of him. I'm sure I'll take more pictures of him soon, but for now these will have to do.











He still needs his own body (he's borrowing my el's body) and he needs some piratey clothing (he's a pirate), but I love how he's come out.

He looks awesome!

I've never faced-up any of mine so I'm always impressed by people who do their own. I have so many friends who do much better jobs then I could I imagine.

Just curious, did he get his name before or after The Princess and the Frog came out?

Hahaha! I added that little tidbid to my LJ, but not here, and of course someone asks the question! No, Naveen was named after Naveen Andrews, who played Sayid on Lost and he was named Season One, so 7 years ago, long before The Princess and and Frog came out. Personally, I think they stole the name from me.

Also, I did not do his faceup, I should have clarified. I have no talent for faceups. My talent lies in sewing. My best friend Kearsy did his faceup, as she's done several of my babies. I am majorly impressed by this faceup, by the blushing and how he came out, although in staring at him I wonder if his eyebrows are up a bit high, but that's only a minor quibble. I love him too much as is to make her do it again.

They're a little on the washed out side due to the extra lighting I added because of the late hour, so I don't think you can see the blushing around his eye as well, so it really doesn't do the faceup justice.

And I see what you mean about the eyebrows, as well. But he looks great the way he is.

I think he looks great! I have done my own faceups on four of my dolls, and I can tell you hands down, the eyebrows are the HARDEST thing to do.

Oh, absolutely! I agree. I may not do my own faceups, but I've watched my friend as she's done faceups, and it's always the eyebrows she's had trouble with. Lips she did well pretty early on. Eyelashes she got good at a while ago. Eyebrows she's finally starting to get a rhythm on, and even then, I know there are times when they just don't work out right. It's a process.
