Sewing Circle~

Ooo, how did I miss this!? Yay for a sewing thread! I really need to sew more, but I am the epitome of procrastination. My outfits are not professional level, but I think I've done a fair job on them - and I love how I can see my improvements in each sewing project I do.


This was the first bit of sewing I did for the dolls. I made it for my friend's elf el. I really didn't know what I was doing, and was just following a pattern and the shirt came out way big for the doll, but apparently my friend loved it anyway. The pants came out awesome, but I didn't do the grometing for the lacing - my friend knows how to do that way better than me. She also made the arm guards.

I've sewn a bunch of clothes for my dolls.
I made this for Kain last week. The poor guy dosn't have as many clothes as the others. My sister asked me to make sence of her Volks pattern books since I can recognise patterns without knowing the names

So this is "Boy in a Mirage" from Volks pattern book 3. I had to test it out after all.

Wow, the "Boy in the Mirage" outfit looks fantastic! I love both outfits, but I really love that one.

I LOVE that "Boy in Mirage" outfit, Deleriumsedge. It stunning.

And that is a ton of teeny pieces, EilonwyG. I'd probably loose them, or they'd blow away. I'm not too good with patterns in general, so I'm kinda biased against them...


Here's a first attempt at a lined vest.



Those feathers were a pain, since the tape thing (that held all the feathers together) was apparently sticky. So now all of my needles and pins that went through the thing are covered in sticky goo.
But I'll probably have to try this thing again, since it's actually too short... and I want to add pockets to this one. I don't know. I'll figure it out later.

That looks great, RainbowCheckers! I didn't know you made that! I need to get some zippers for jackets like that.

My pieces are coming together, and I'm learning to pleat! Exciting! The skirts really starting to come together.

Thanks. The zipper actually was a pain in the rear. It doesn't really work well, since I had to cut it... that didn't go too well. <<

Been busy doing some sewing lately. I finished Aria's outfit and made a few simple little dresses, all for minis.




Little bow on the back. I'm making it removable.


I made an infinity dress for Aria based on a tutorial on DoA.


Then I made one for my kid delf elf cherry, Lechi.

I made a second infinity dress with the same material as Aria's for my friend.


Then I made a sweet little sundress for my friend's Mikhaila.

I've really been having fun making the infinity dresses, and they take no time at all to make! I'm hoping to get more material for them and make more dresses. Most of my girls are now clammoring for one, as are my friend's girls. So plenty more sewing in the works for me. At some point, I'll have to get back to making Effie's Steampunk outfit.

I made a wig today! My first time ever making a wig/fur wig and I messed up but it ended up awesome anyways~! ^_^ So here are some pictures of it!

Here's a pair of wigs I made.

Those are great! That's something I've never tried - I might be good at sewing, but I don't think I can make a wig. Both of them look really good, and I like the two colors in the SD one.

I actually screwed up on the black one. xD
It was supposed to be a MSD wig, but I didn't have enough fabric... it's too small and now is used by the tinys. xD

The SD one took forever, since I patterned it on both paper and then scrap fabric. I had to put some darts in the back of it too, since it was too big. >>

I'm still trying to figure out wigs, but it isn't too difficult with all the tutorials on DOA. x3 I'm just slow at figuring it all out..

I ended up trying to make a wig today, I had started it out as a MSD size but a little smaller. I wanted it in between a MSD and a YoSD size because the LJ I ordered from AiDolls is a small MSDish size so its heads assumed to be smaller at this point o3o

Here it is on my SOOM Afi, its a little big for her on the inside but not exactly 'long enough' I suppose you could say, so I might need to add more later I think but for now, here it is!

I made another sweater/hoodie for August.



I never realized how thick his pants are around his waist until I looked at this picture. xD
I'll have to remake those...
