Saving/waiting Room

My taco arrived! He showed up yesterday, just before heading to a meet in the city. I haven't had a chance to put on his dragon parts yet, and haven't had a chance to take any good pictures of him, but when I do I'll be sure to post him.

And now, besides Maska, I really think I might want the Soom Lami. While the red resin is awesome, I'm not sure if I'll like it, but that surprise face just fricken kills me. We'll see if I have the ability to get him.

Trachy and Lami are pretty cute. The red is cool, but I don't think I'd be able to stand it for too long myself. Soom seemed to be more creative with photography this time around. Sitting in a shoe, stabbing biscuits. The surprised face teeth are super cute, though.

If you did get Lami, I'd love to see pictures of him and Taco together. Red and blue resin would be fun to do a photoshoot of.

My taco is just the basic set - no faceup or blushing, or outfit. Just the dragon parts. He's going to get his eyes opened on the dragon head, but right now he's sitting next to me as I type this. Stuck him in the Littlefee Elf El outfit and he looks quite cute.

I'm pretty sure I'm not getting Trachy, but Lami is starting to really call to me, as I'm invisioning this devil boy who turns into a human boy to trick the rest of my dolls into believing he's just a human boy, all the while plotting tricks and not nice things to do to them. I'm starting to like the concept so much that I may have to get him. My friend may want to get Trachy and if she doesn I'll be sure to post pictures of the blue and red resin together.

The little devil parts on Lami are cute too. I'm trying not to look on doll sites right now, because I'm on a new resolution to start finishing dolls I have now before buying another... << It'll be hard not to cave with all the pretty sculpts I need to complete my cast of characters. D:

Anyone else have that problem? Or is it just me? I think August and Akira are the only two of my 5 (and a half) dolls that are complete. << Then I went and bought another. I need a job.

I totally just saw this too, if you're interested in Lami. 5StarDoll has a devil/demon boy as well, that I almost mistook for Lami. And you can get him in red skin (as well as tan, yellow, normal, and white). His mold is Quintus and may be a good substitute if you can't order Lami in time before he goes out.

And no, it's not just you. I'm in need of several bodies for my floating heads. My resolution for this year was to get bodies for at least some of my floating heads. However, it's hard to keep that resolution when the dolls I'm looking at have a short shelf life. Damn limiteds. ><

Good to know. I'm not that bad yet with floating heads yet... << Beckett is only my second, and I've long since found a body for my first head (which was August). I have a problem getting the right eyes and face ups. (I can do the face ups myself, I just need the MSC.) But convincing my dad to let me spend money on doll eyes is hard, especially since they all have eyes. They're just not the right ones. <<

And I agree with the limited thing. My problem is that I fall for a limited mold that has no plans characterwise, while all my characters get shoved til later, since I want to get them all unlimited shells. :\ Of my five and a half dolls, plus the incoming boy, only three have had planned characters when incoming. However, all the unplanned characters seem to integrate themselves quite vitally into the storyline. Now I don't know what I'd do without them, so I can't complain too much.
It just gets hard, since I have at least four characters I'm dying to dollify asap, but it's been about two to three years of buying other dolls first. <<

So I'm gonna buckle down. I gotta work on the dolls I have and shell characters that are planned out. And if that means ignoring the Soom website, that's what I'm gonna (try) to do.

Tell me about it, Soom has derailed me buying Aria's body for over two years! I'm glad she finally has it, but now it wants to derail me getting other character dolls. Of course, the Soom dolls aren't any particular character doll, and most of them will only ever appear in my photostories, but my skoll, who was unplanned, has been so well loved he's become quite an integral character.

Maybe I'll be able to resist Lami. Then I can focus on trying to scrounge up money for bodies - sadly, I have quite a few heads in need of bodies.

How many heads do you need bodies for, out of curiosity?

Soom needs to stop making such adorable Yos. Then I'd be able to resist.

Heads with faceups: 7 (Mature Ted, AES, Soony, Vampire Lu-Wen, Juri A, Luna Tamer human, Ryeon)
Heads without faceups: 8 (SD Wintery '08, Feeple Nanuri '08, Lu-Wen, Elf Ante, OE Beyla, MNF Scar Breakaway, OE Ai, MNF Vamp Chloe)

Of those heads, # with actual character assigned to them (higher priority): 6 (AES, Soony, Luna Tamer, Ryeon, Feeple Nanuri, Breakaway)

I know it's a lot, but you should have seen how many heads my friend had for a while there. Probably nearly 20, because she kept selling off bodies to pay for new dolls. Some of these heads, like the Juri A and the Lu-Wens, I got as part of a trade. I like them, but no idea who they are. I just want them to be pretty. At least a lot of my heads can borrow bodies and wander off, should I want to take them out and show them off. My Ryeon and AES often go out to meets, even though they don't have their own bodies. My Luna tamer is gray skin and can't borrow anyone's body. My Soony is WS and has borrowed both a NS body of my own (and then photographed in B&W to mitigate the color difference) and a WS body of my friend's.

One day, I'll have bodies for all of them. Either that, or I'll start sellling them off. That might be a bit difficult, though, as they're all so pretty.

And yes, Soom really needs to stop making cute Yo kiddos. One reason I'm so happy when they're unattractive or weird looking.

I kinda get selling off bodies, but I'd feel so guilty doing it. It'd be all 'Sorry doll, as much as I like you, I really like this other doll. So I'm going to sell your body ( so immature).' You still have the head, which is the important part, I guess.

I'm also really awkward with heads. Not so bad with my current, but when my Vamp Breakaway 08 was just a head, I'd drop him all the time. It'd scare the crap out of me, but it was always on carpet and he'd always come through fine. I'm scared to carry around my Winter 09 though (when he doesn't have the borrowed body), since the floors where I live now are concrete. Not as forgiving. I'm lucky I haven't dropped anyone in the year I've been here.

Too bad there aren't as many soom tinies that aren't so cute. I'm not much of a fan of Grit/Syen or Eliv/Iv. But other than that... >>
I'd die (not really, but alshdlafj) to get an Afi, Beyla, Pyrol, or Dolomi.
There are a few of the big dolls I want too (mainly Chrom, Shoshon, and Heliot) but I can't justify that much money for them.

Yeah, the msd Soom are terribly adorable. Pel is gorgeous and I love Kivi - although those tiptoe kitty feet and paws are just ridiculous. I've been mostly able to resist the SDs, but te yos... I agree, the Eliv and Livs were not at all appealing to me. The OE Grit and Syen were cute, but I didn't like the fang head. A few others I either didn't completely like or I was fine just knowing my friend was going to have one, but I wish I had gotten a Minette/Pyrol human. They are pretty cute.

I'm not so much into fantasy parts lately, so I agree with the paws comment.
The main reason I'm so into Shoshon and Pel (besides them being fantastic in their own ways ) is because I found out I'm 1/8th Native American. (Yeah, all those times my parents could have told me when we had those 'find your own ethnicity' projects in elementary school were avoided.) So, now I really want a NA looking character. And tan Shoshon and Pel hit it dead on. \o/

I'll just have to keep looking at tan dolls. >>

I don't know anything about spiridoll or 70cm dolls.

The biggest guy I have in my house right now is a Luts Winter 09 head on a Soul doll Double body. He's about 65 ish cm. He's a bit heavier that my 60 cm Luts boy, but nothing murderous. So if your used to 60cm dolls, a 70cm shouldn't be too bad.

But I'm probably the wrong person to ask.

And sorry about your waiting restart. At least you know he's being shipped for real this time.

I hope spiritdolls aren't freakishly heavy then like I've heard because I'm planning on carrying him during a convention this summer :/

Soooooo, that was unexpected. I ordered my Maska elf something like two days from the deadline. I have been keeping up with who was getting what in over at the Luts waiting thread and paid attention when the Maskas started to ship. My friend got a blank elf maska as well, probably well over a week before I bought mine. I haven't been on Luts to check up on him.

And he showed up today.

I like him. I bought a pair of eyes and a wig along with him, although the eyes aren't exactly what I expected (the pupils are dark blue, not black like normal) and I don't think I like the wig, but at least he's not bald and eyeless. I'm thinking about sending him out to Angel Toast for a faceup. I'll try to get some pictures of him up later.

No box for me today, but he was inbound out of customs around 1 this afternoon... so I'm crossing my fingers for tomorrow.
